Migros - Day Care Centre

Day Care Centre

Supplementary to the school, a day-care centre was built up in 2003, facilitated through the financial support of Migros, a number of private donors and public funds. Parallel to compulsory attendance in Migros-School, the day-care centre will be intensively looked after to help the children developing a strong sense of community.

Background of the project

There are children in Tirupur that cannot get sufficient care and feeding by their parents caused of economic survival. This lack results in missing school progress. Their need for affection and safety, community and a stable livelihood is all too obvious.
With the opening of Migros Kids-School in Tirupur’s periphery education has begun to contribute to rising awareness levels about the value and importance of education itself. Conversations with children reveal the vivid dream of many to develop independently and learn a trade.

The project objectives
